Understanding Emotional Modes
MyBayad is designed to adapt to your emotional state. We recognize that managing debt isn't just about numbers - it's an emotional journey. The app offers three modes that change how information is presented and how Gab communicates with you.
Why Modes?
Financial stress is real. Studies show that debt-related anxiety can lead to:
- Decision paralysis when overwhelmed
- Avoidance behaviors that make debt worse
- Mental health impacts from constant worry
By adapting the interface to your emotional state, MyBayad aims to:
- Reduce information overload when you're stressed
- Provide appropriate support for your current needs
- Help you stay engaged even during difficult times
The Three Modes
Calm Mode
For when finances are stable and you want gentle, encouraging guidance
Control Mode
Default mode with full analytics, clear metrics, and actionable insights
Crisis Mode
Simplified interface for when you're feeling overwhelmed and need support
How to Change Modes
You can change your mode anytime:
- Go to Settings from the navigation
- Select Emotional Mode
- Choose your preferred mode
- The app updates immediately
Automatic Mode Suggestions
MyBayad can detect patterns that might indicate stress:
- Multiple missed payments in a row
- Sudden increase in total debt
- Long periods without app usage
- Rapid switching between screens (anxiety pattern)
When these patterns are detected, MyBayad will gently suggest switching to a more supportive mode. You're always in control - these are suggestions, not automatic changes.
Mode Comparison
| Feature | Calm | Control | Crisis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Color Scheme | Soft green | Blue/gray | Minimal red/white |
| Information Density | Moderate | High | Minimal |
| Charts & Analytics | Yes | Full | Hidden |
| Gab's Tone | Encouraging | Informative | Supportive |
| Focus | Long-term goals | All debts | Priority only |
No Judgment: There's no "right" mode. Use whatever helps you best manage your financial journey. Many users switch between modes depending on their day or week.
