Households in MyBayad allow you to collaborate with family members on debt management. Share debts, track combined progress, and stay accountable together.
What is a Household?
A household is a group of MyBayad users who want to:
- Share visibility into each other's debts (with privacy controls)
- Track combined household debt totals
- See activity updates when members make payments
- Collaborate on debt-free goals
Creating Your Household
- Go to Household from the navigation
- Click Create Household
- Enter a household name (e.g., "Santos Family")
- Confirm creation
You automatically become the Owner of the household you create.

| Owner | All shared + personal | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Admin | All shared | Yes | Yes | Members only |

Inviting Members
After creating your household:

- Choose a method:
- Share Link - Generate an invite link to send via chat
- Email Invite - Send an invite directly via email
- Set the role for the invited member
- Share the link or send the email

Privacy Controls
When you join a household, you control what others see:
Debt Visibility
For each debt, you can set visibility to:
- Household - All members can see full details
- Summary Only - Others see category and amount, not details
- Private - Only you can see this debt
Payment Visibility
When you record a payment, you can choose whether to:
- Show it in the household activity feed
- Keep it private
Leaving or Deleting
Leaving a Household
If you want to leave:
- Go to Household Settings
- Scroll to Leave Household
- Confirm your decision
Your debts remain in your account but become private.
Deleting a Household
Only the Owner can delete a household. This removes all members and all shared visibility settings. Individual debts remain with their owners.
Best Practices
- Discuss transparency levels as a family before starting
- Start with basic visibility and adjust as comfort grows
- Use the activity feed to celebrate wins together
