A household is a group of MyBayad users who want to:

  • Share visibility into each other's debts (with privacy controls)
  • Track combined household debt totals
  • See activity updates when members make payments
  • Collaborate on debt-free goals

For each debt, you can set visibility to:

  • Household - All members can see full details
  • Summary Only - Others see category and amount, not details
  • Private - Only you can see this debt

Payment Visibility

When you record a payment, you can choose whether to:

  • Show it in the household activity feed
  • Keep it private

Leaving or Deleting

Leaving a Household

If you want to leave:

  1. Go to Household Settings
  2. Scroll to Leave Household
  3. Confirm your decision

Your debts remain in your account but become private.

Deleting a Household

Only the Owner can delete a household. This removes all members and all shared visibility settings. Individual debts remain with their owners.

Best Practices

  • Discuss transparency levels as a family before starting
  • Start with basic visibility and adjust as comfort grows
  • Use the activity feed to celebrate wins together
  • Set household goals to work toward as a team
